For those who are at home with Dance, Techno and Trance, the name Peter Bellaert will surely sound more than familiar. As a DJ, producer and instigator of, (among others) Minimalistix, E.V.O and Atlantis 6, Peter has set an indelible footprint on the Belgian Dance scene since the 1980s.
Fortunately, there are proverbs such as “A chip of the old block” since this musical story continues happily from father to son. Or should I say “father with son”?
Son Kenny Bellaert saw his father working on dance and trance tracks for years at a time in his music studio. Quite soon Kenny was captivated himself by the same musical microbe as father Peter.
After all, as a child Kenny really enjoyed being immersed in the dance scene, and being Peter’s son he also had regular contacts with people from this scene.
Where at the time Peter started the well-known and very successful project Minimalistix, son Kenny will now continue (or say expand) this as an eager young colt under the name Maximalistix.
